Cleanings and Exams
We do all we can to make sure our patients feel as comfortable and relaxed as possible during each and every visit to our office. Our fundamental philosophy is that the best way to ensure good dental health is to be proactive with our patients’ dental care. We offer comprehensive teeth cleanings and exams. We typically recommend to our patients at least two cleanings and exams per year. The importance of staying on top of the oral healthcare needs of our patients cannot be stressed enough.
Keeping kids teeth healthy is more than just daily brushing and flossing. By visiting the dentist twice a year for cleanings and exams, will help keep your child’s teeth healthy. We also provide routine fluoride treatments. Fluoride is nature’s cavity fighter and is especially important in good oral health for children. We use a topical fluoride treatment form during dental visits for children. Fluoride is effective in preventing and reversing the early signs of tooth decay. It also helps to create a tooth surface that is more resistant to decay.
Oral Cancer Screening
No oral exam is complete without an oral cancer screening. During your cleaning and exam we make sure to give each of our patients an oral cancer screening. It takes very little time (less than 5 minutes) to complete but can be a life saver. Despite advances in modern medicine and cancer treatments, early detection remains one of the surest ways to combat oral cancer.
Sometimes, no matter how well you maintain your teeth at home, plaque buildup, gum inflammation, cavities, or more serious dental health issues can occur. For those with periodontal disease, associated symptoms such as bone loss, frequently bleeding gums, exposed roots, and heavy plaque and tartar buildup, can affect your oral and overall health. We provide comprehensive periodontal maintenance to those patients with periodontal disease. With our periodontal maintenance service we extensively clean your teeth, as well as in and around the gum line, ridding your mouth of harmful plaque and bacteria. To further stay on top of your periodontal care, we recommend appointments every three to four months. With more frequent visits we can combat the rebuilding of plaque and bacteria, and thus maintain the health and integrity of your teeth and gums.
